Riley's Frame

I was actually able to do a little stamping today. I made a couple of cards and played with my new Copic markers. They are so much fun.

I made a name frame for a co-workers nephew also today. I found some really cool star lace paper at our local scrapbook store and layered it onto Stampin Up's Night of Navy card stock. I painted chipboard letters with Night of Navy re-inker mixed with clear paint from Making Memories. When I put them on the base, they didn't stand out enough for me, so I experimented by using my Versamarker pen, outlined the letters and dipped them in Detail White embossing powder. After I heat embossed them, it really added detail to the letters and helped them stand out. It gave them a scruffy look. Perfect for a boy! I added baseball themed embellishments and TA DAA - Riley's name frame.

Wedding Invitations

My future daughter-in-law's sister got married this past spring. She wanted to make her own wedding invitations and she asked for my help. I came up with several different designs. I can't take all the credit for these, I got the ideas for them from some great designers on Splitcoast. I'm sorry I don't have their names. This is some of my favorite samples, she ended up going with this first one.

Stamps and cardstock is by Stampin Up! This stamp is from the Baroque Motifs set. I just love this set. It works for so many different themes. I thought this made the invitation simple, yet very elegant. We added red ruby jewels and diamond jewels for accents. Her colors for her wedding were black, red and white. Very beatiful!

Here are two more samples I made. The first one also uses Baroque Motifs. The second card was actually designed by my niece, for her own wedding, which was pink and chocolate colors. I changed the colors to black, red and white. The stamp set I used here is also from Stampin Up! the set is Artfully Asian.

Newbie

Well, I finally made a blog. I am definitely a newbie and have much to learn.
My biggest problem is going to be finding time to keep it updated, but I will do my best!
I love looking at everyone else's blogs. There are so many ideas out there!! I usually case many of my creations, however I do have a few of my own.
I have been very intrigued by Copic markers. I have heard so much about them, I am gonna have to get me some. The details that come out in the projects is awesome. I can't wait till mine come in!
I am a Stampin UP! demo - mostly hobby. I have done several workshops, but with a full time job, it is hard to alot of them. My sister is also a Demo and loves to stamp and scrapbook. We travel together to alot of events and it's our time to get away from work, family and life!
They say stamping is cheaper than therapy - but sometimes I wonder....don't tell my husband. ha. He came into my scrap room a couple of months ago and said "I bet you have $1000.00 worth of junk in here." He has no idea!!
I am lucky to have a great group of ladies in my area that are also into stamping and scrapbooking. My sister and I have a great time getting together with them.
If you are looking for a great scrapbook retreat - check out www.croppintrain.com. It occurs twice a year in Northwest Arkansas and is the best!! Plus Pat, Dora and Melissa are good friends of mine. They are all three very creative and they make sure everyone has a great time at their retreat.
Well, I better get busy and get some work done. I've played too long this morning.
